I tried....but didnt follow it exactly. I probably actually offended by using a box cake (I just wanted them to look pretty! Judge me) ...and not cooking things as long as she told me, or waiting for it to cool. (I'm actually very impatient!) So dont be like me...actually follow the directions.
But, I was actually surprised at how well mine turned out!

Also, cupcake toppers are SUPER CUTE and simple! I made a few by punching out hearts with a paper punch, and gluing one on either side of a toothpick.
I also had a little fun carving my own stamp for things...its pretty valentiney

so I just found your blog, and I can totally relate! I'm a graduate student (just defended my masters!) in geology and am experiencing the quirky struggle to balance crafts and higher education. we can do it! I look forward to following your progress (and crafts!)!
Thanks for the blog love. The cupcake recipe is actually from Bake it in a cake. Lots of people are having problems with their hearts floating to the top of the cupcake. Did you freeze your hearts prior to putting them in the cupcake or anything?
