I saw the cutest wire trees on pinterest the other day- and I am such a sucker for any craft that helps me use up spare wire I have from the wire hangers! Well I took one look and went to work (without reading anything...which posed a problem as you will see)
Now, I started bending the wire around the goblet (I'm going to call it that at least)
Who sees my problem already?
If you didn't find the problem, well neither did I....until I needed to get the wire off. Seeing as how I just wrapped it around the middle, I had no way of getting it off without unwrapping it some since both sides were larger than the middle.
I didn't unwrap it all the way, think of it as getting a keyring off your key chain- just going around the wire until it gets to an end, you don't have to unwind it the entire way. Here is how it came off.
The rest I just did by hand. After I had a basic wire cone shape, I could do the rest easily within a minute or two. I didn't like the end of the wire just poking out, so I curled it around at the bottom, and the top (to make a more whimsical look since I was NOT going to attempt to shape a star)
It worked great! I even cut a small start out of paper, and attached it to the top. I'm not sold on it- but you could then use it to display your Christmas cards, your family Christmas picture, or have the kids make little stars and display them proudly!
